Services We Provide

Our team is experienced in preparing detailed cost estimates throughout the design phase of a project.  Class D, C, B, or A cost estimates can be prepared in either Elemental or Trade Division format as opinions of probable costs.

Checkmate offers construction financial monitoring services for lenders and real estate investors in British Columbia.  We review the development pro-forma and associated budgets, the contract documentation and proposed development schedule.  Once construction is underway, we review developer or builder claims and make recommendations to the lenders for loan payments based on the schedule status and value variations that are taking place in the development.

In British Columbia, a reserve fund study is mandated by The Strata Property Act for strata corporations (with five or more lots) every five years and is known as a depreciation report.  The purpose of the study is to determine the condition of the building's components, estimate their remaining useful life, and project future costs of repairs and replacements.  We are qualified to prepare these reports.

At Checkmate, we have the experience to help private and public-sector clients with the assessment of building and infrastructure systems and specifications throughout the design stage of a project, to ensure that value is achieved in both capital cost and resource waste reduction.

Checkmate can prepare feasibility study estimates, facility assessment estimates, and asset capital plans.  These studies can include market data, real estate pricing and marketing plans, development and construction cost estimates, development cash flows and profitability studies.  We can assist with design team selection and project procurement approach.

Checkmate can prepare schedules of quantities and bills of quantities for specific building and infrastructure elements.  We have experience on various building types and extensive expertise with civil and infrastructure projects.
